CLOSED HOUSE CONDITIONS

"Closed House Conditions" requires that 12 hours before the arrival of the technician, all exterior windows and doors on all floors of the home must be in a closed position, and must remain closed for the duration of the test (typically 2-5 days). Normal exit and entry to and from the home during the testing period is permissible, but doors should only be opened for brief periods of time to permit entry and exit. You should not use anything that may exhaust air from the house such as fireplaces, whole house fans, or other similar appliances.  Please minimize the use of your dryer.

You may use central air-conditioning and heating equipment as needed. Humidifiers and dehumidifiers may be used. You may use window air conditioners if the fresh air intake vents are closed. You may use ceiling, floor, and table fans.
